I’m posting my reflection on the quote from In the Aeroplane Over The Sea if you want to read it, I quite like it.

Quote:

“Can’t believe how strange it is to be anything at all.”

Reflection:

I could go on for ages about this quote and all that it means to me. When I first heard the song this lyric is from, “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel, I remember the awe I felt at how brilliant it is. It makes me realize how lucky we all are to be here at all. Since we were tiny eggs in the wombs of our mothers we have faced so many obstacles attempting to thwart our existence that it is baffling. In everyday life it is difficult to see that if we take a step back and look at what we’ve accomplished thus far we are all champions. Luck has been on our side since that one specific pairing of sperm and egg joined to create us. How strange it is indeed that we would be the ones lucky enough to walk this earth. If just one small detail leading to our creation was altered we would never be graced with the chance to feel sunlight on our skin, smell the scent of summer rains, see the beauty of all around us, or feel the touch of those we love. So from now on I will simply try to remember how awe-inspiring it is to be anything at all.
